TJC Mortgage, before it became MortgageRight, began in 2005 when three seasoned industry professionals – Joe Meadow, Tanner Allen and Chris Carter – decided to start their own mortgage company. TJC Mortgage was founded with the goal of offering a better choice for home mortgages. The owners knew that stepping away from their solid careers with national mortgage banks during the height of the market was a bold, risky decision. Their motivation to initiate real change and to deliver a higher level of customer service was more powerful.

What started in a small, humble office in Birmingham quickly expanded to other states, including Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky. In 2009, TJC continued its growth trajectory by transitioning from a mortgage broker to a mortgage banker. This transition provided clients and partners alike the all-in-one experience that complements the high-level service the company was founded on. 

Right from the start, the thing that truly differentiated TJC from others in the industry was the exceptional level of personalized attention they provided to each and every client. As a veteran-owned company built on a foundation of Christian values, the concept of serving others just came naturally. 

To demonstrate their commitment to their clients, the partners made sure that the phone was answered every time it rang – no one ever received a recording.  They even hired loan officers and assistants to work until 9pm each night to make sure clients could reach them after hours to discuss their mortgage needs or to have their questions answered. Going above and beyond like this helped set TJC apart and the result was growth and recognition, as the company was listed as one the top 10 mortgage companies by National Mortgage Professional Magazine. 

MortgageRight

In 2018, the ambitious founders decided to embark on yet another bold move and expand their platform on a national level with the introduction of the MortgageRight brand. 

Realizing they had built a unique P & L branch model from the ground up they knew they needed to find other likeminded top producers to implement this model around the country in key markets. 

Today, our three founders still maintain the same steadfast commitment that drove them to take a leap of faith so many years ago. Their “People Before Profits” mentality is observed in their passion for serving others and their commitments to the communities in which they live and work.
